Perennial Kitchen Experiences

Everyday Kitchen Herbs

AMSTERDAM EXPERIENCE June 1 - June 5, 2023

everyday kitchen herbs

Join us for four magical days in Amsterdam, famous for its beautiful canals, quirky architecture and cultural gems. In a stunning cooking studio overlooking the UNESCO world heritage canal belt, we will delve into the transformative medicinal and nutritional power of everyday kitchen herbs and ingredients, while enjoying hands-on encounters with herbal practitioners, food artisans, and chefs in one of the great cities of the world.

The program:

  • Enjoy daily morning or afternoon workshops with our herbal guide Judith in the spacious kitchen space on the banks of the Amsterdam canal that will be our home base during the program.

  • Go off the beaten path, wander the charming streets and see what Amsterdam has to offer or just relax in your downtime.

  • Expand your knowledge of the healing benefits of common herbs and ingredients as well as harnessing the power of age-old medicinal herbs.

  • Learn how to make beneficial teas, infusions, salves, ferments, and delicious recipes, equipping you with a wealth of new knowledge over the course of the Kitchen Experience.

  • Understand how to address a range of health and well-being issues using easily available herbs and foods. The topics we’ll cover will include digestive issues, menopause, common colds, flus, headaches, skincare, and first aid.

  • Experience the tastes and traditions of foods from traditional artisans and chefs operating in the central Amsterdam area.

    • We will visit a local cheesemaker who uses herbs and flowers to make some of the tastiest cheeses you will ever encounter.

    • Enjoy a fermented lunch from a local Korean chef while learning about her interpretation of traditional Korean ingredients and recipes.

  • Be pampered with a one-on-one flower essence session with Judith

  • As a participant in the Kitchen Experience, you will be a member of a private text/whatsapp group dedicated to this Experience. We’ll use this to keep in touch during the Experience and as a space where you’ll be able to ask questions and get answers from Judith and Wieteke, both during and for a month after the program, and share your challenges and successes with the group.
